The Design and Testing of CLCS Products

CLCS have specialised in innovative and reliable locking for over 180 years. Their locks are designed and tested to meet the most rigorous demands of custodial establishments worldwide.

Design

Testing

From the first detention lock in 1820 to the latest computer monitored lock access system the Chubb designers have lead the field with their innovation and application of the very latest technology.

With continual investment in research and development, no compromise is made against cost.  This is  to guarantee that the lock is of the highest quality and offers the highest possible security.

The quality of materials used and the quality of manufacture you can be assured that you couldn't have chosen a better lock .

Precision Engineering

To maximise security CLCS products are made to extreme tolerances, to minimise wear and maximise the life of the product and enhance the overall security making it a world leader.  This makes the production process more complex but the overall security of the lock is much higher.

Tests are continually carried out to prove the strength and durability of CLCS products.  .

For testing information on a specific lock, download the literature for that lock from the products pages of this website (see blue menu and left) or call our technical sales team +44 1902 867730.

Tests carried out on our products include

  • Bolt cutting tests

  • Body impact tests

  • Torque attack tests

  • Drill attack tests

  • Shear attack tests

Durability Testing

Tests are carried out on the durability of the locks under normal operating conditions, eg:

  • Number of key operation

  • Number of handle operations

  • Solenoid operation (electric locks)

  • Weather Resistance (Salt spray test)

  • Door slams (locks with a latch)

Results for specific locks can be found on the product literature, which can be downloaded from the products section of this website (see the blue menu the left of this page).
