Delivering quality training to our customers

Chubb Locks Custodial has always been at the forefront of new media in its information delivery and training has reflected this transformation over the last decade . Gone are the days of acetates in favour of multimedia technologies, interactivity and video.

The integrity of product management, particularly within prison environments, requires the utmost proficiency to be developed within system operatives.

The commitment to training has been recognised at the highest levels - CLCS's lock training manual has been established as the Irish government's benchmark standard in all supplier training and the extensive documentation provided for the Home Office ensures that all officers can operate CLCS products to maximum operational efficiency.

But, CLCS isn't resting there. Now, the company has invested in its trainers - offering the highly regarded 'Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) City & Guilds Qualification' to those directly involved with customer training and support.

The course took place recently, with four delegates from CLCS. As the course could accommodate additional personnel, the opportunity was opened up to the ASSA Abloy UK Group - and the CLCS team were joined by delegates from Abloy and ASSA Abloy Door Solutions.

Over five intensive days, the delegates completed assignments, training sessions, scheme of work development and session plans. The level of course input was such that each of the delegates also completed several hours of 'homework' each evening.

Shane Penwright, one of the course delegates, is CLCS's Sales Engineer - and regularly delivers training to customers. Shane says, 'This course not only provides us with a professionally recognised qualification, it has also given us an insight into new strategies that we will, of course, be implementing on our next course.'

All of the course materials have now been forwarded to City and Guilds for assessment. We're looking forward to updating you with the results, soon!

Training is a major factor in our product implementation and we are always looking for new ways to deploy innovative techniques."
